About Arko

A Canadian technology partner —
for AI that ships and software that earns trust.

Arko IT Services Inc. is a federally incorporated Canadian consultancy. We help companies that need to move fast on AI and stay defensible on compliance — at the same time — turn strategy into shipped product.

Why we exist

The trade-off most consultancies force, we exist to remove.

Canadian businesses face two pressures at once. AI has stopped being optional, and compliance has stopped being a checkbox. Companies that move fast on one usually fall behind on the other — and most consultancies are built to handle one workstream, not both.

Arko exists to remove that trade-off. We bring the engineering discipline of regulated industries to AI work, and the speed of AI-native teams to compliance work. The result is fewer projects shipped, but the ones that ship hit production, pass audit, and keep running.

We sell a single thing: senior judgement applied to the technology decisions that move your business — written down, defensible, and billable to an outcome rather than to an hour.

How we work

Four principles.

01

We solve the right problem first.

Most engineering work fails because the wrong thing got built, not because the code was wrong. Every Arko engagement begins with a written strategy: what business outcome moves, what would prove it, and what we will deliberately not build.

02

Compliance is engineered in, not bolted on.

AML/BSA, PIPEDA, PHIPA, HIPAA, SOC 2 — we treat these as architecture inputs, not closing-checklist items. The audit trail that satisfies a regulator usually becomes the same dashboard that runs your operations.

03

AI ships when AI is engineered like a product.

Demos are easy. Production systems with eval gates, governance, latency budgets, and audit trails are not. We bring the discipline of regulated-industry engineering to AI by default.

04

Transparency is the cheapest insurance.

Staffing, hourly rates, hours used, risks, decisions deferred — written down, shared, reviewed monthly. The number of unpleasant surprises we permit is the number we measure ourselves on.

Where we go deep

Three disciplines. One engagement.

AI engineering for regulated industries

Production LLM systems on Azure OpenAI, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and Responsible-AI governance — built for environments where the system has to be defensible, not just clever.

Compliance-grade software architecture

Enterprise .NET Core and cloud-native architecture for AML/BSA, PIPEDA, HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and SOC 2 contexts. Audit-ready logging, evidence pipelines, access controls, and the supporting documentation auditors actually want.

Strategic technology leadership

Translating business outcomes into engineering decisions and back again. Vendor selection, hiring, architecture review, technical due diligence, and the board-facing technical narrative that fundraising and acquisitions require.

Safkat Mustakim Nirjash

Founder & Principal Consultant. A Canadian software engineer with 13+ years building enterprise systems for regulated industries — financial compliance, human capital, healthcare, and most recently, production AI platforms in financial technology.

Previous work includes leading the AML/BSA compliance engineering program that unlocked a $50M+ revenue opportunity through a National Trust Bank Charter, architecting an enterprise loyalty platform running at $155M+ GMV, and lifting the uptime of a real-time enterprise platform from 99.5% to 99.97% while cutting latency 35% and compressing the release cycle 86%.

Architect-level certifications in both Azure and AWS, the AI Engineer Associate credential, PMP, CSM, CSPO, and a Master of Technology Management from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Detailed engagement history is available at nirjash.com.
